Cape Town based Giltedge Travel, who operates Southern Africa Travel, has been singled out as South Africa’s Leading Luxury Tour Operator for the second consecutive year at an impressive ceremony held at Soho Square in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt on Friday 16 September 2011.
World Travel Awards (www.worldtravelawards.com) serves to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel, tourism and hospitality industry. The Wall Street Journal describes the awards as the 'Oscars' of the travel industry. 180,000 industry professionals from around the world participated in the voting process for their preferred companies and organisations over the past four months and Giltedge Travel was nominated alongside some of the most respected names in the travel industry for the most sought-after prizes in the tourism world. Other nominees included &Beyond, New Frontiers Tours & Travel, Personal Africa, Trans Africa Safaris and Wilderness Safaris.
