Protea Hotel Victoria Junction

Protea Hotel Victoria Junction

I was given the opportunity to spend a night at Protea Hotel Victoria Junction in an area of Cape Town known as Greenpoint, which has easy access to the CBD, tourist attractions and the V&A Waterfront.  This hotel has been built in an industrial style and the décor is quite quirky and fun with great colours throughout. The hotel recently underwent refurbishments and all 172 fresh bedrooms have a great modern design that offer environmentally friendly lighting, water-saving rain showers and LCD screens and iPod docking stations. The rooms also have international adaptor installations for the comfort of their international guests.

All beds are extra length and rooms are made up of standard rooms, some consist of shower only or bath only, superior rooms with a balcony which only have showers and then superior rooms with either a shower or bath.  They then have loft rooms which consist of a shower option only but these are double volume rooms with a great design consisting of downstairs lounge, guest bathroom, equipped kitchenette including a Nespresso espresso maker and then the loft bedroom.  The hotel also has one disabled friendly room with roll-in shower.

My stay at the Victoria Junction really blew me away. The service we received from check in was very thorough and smooth and they really do know what they are doing.  There is a really nice vibe in this hotel and the little personal touches such as the names of guests on the electronic name board upon check in, the sms you get before you even open the door to your room to welcome you, to the staff at the breakfast who are friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much effort. The location for a city hotel is really great and there is a gate that opens to the Waterfront at the bottom of the road for easy access.  The hotel also offers a shuttle to and from the waterfront which is great. I would really recommend this hotel for clients wanting a great standard and affordable accommodation in the city.
