The One&Only Cape Town

The One&Only Cape Town

The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you. Anything you need at any time of the day is not a problem.  The rooms are huge, definitely the biggest I have seen in a 5 star hotel in Cape Town. They are beautifully decorated and have amazing views of Table Mountain (Marina Rooms) The bathrooms are huge and you could fit at least 10 people in the shower (if you wanted to…).

On check in and arriving at our room we were met by our butler who very happily unpacked our bags and showed us around the room and how to work the TV, lights, doors, curtains, bathroom, air-conditioning and the list goes on. I can’t remember the name of the coffee in the room; however, it was the best coffee I have ever tasted.

All the Marina Rooms have balconies overlooking the ‘island’ in the Waterfront Marina, and of course Table Mountain. The Island is where the enormous pool, unbelievable spa and all the Grand Island Suites are situated. These suites are ideal for families, in fact, the One&Only Cape Town is the ideal property for families as they have so much for the kids of all ages to do. It is also situated next door to the Cape Town aquarium and a 3 minute walk from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront which is amongst Cape Town’s top tourist attractions.

The food is out of this world, you have two options to choose from for dinner – Maze (Gordon Ramsey’s restaurant) and the world renowned Nobu. Lunch is served by the pool or in Maze and breakfast can be eaten in Maze or in the comfort of you suite (I choose this option and can highly recommend it).  All in all I give the One&Only Cape Town a definite 20 out of 10. It far exceeded my expectations and the attitude of the staff is the best I have experienced in any 5 star hotel in a long long time.
