My African Relish…


My African Relish…

If I were older, I would certainly consider quitting the travel world and retire to Prince Albert!  May have to wait a few years though, or retire young perhaps…?  The Friday drive through the dry Karoo was fairly long and uneventful, except for a short drinks stop at Matjiesfontein. Certainly worth it though, to reach this peaceful, quaint, soulful little Karoo town, nestled at the foot of the magnificent Swartberg Pass.  It has all the best attractions of small town, country living - wide streets, absolute stillness (save the occasional rooster!), quaint antique shops with friendly proprietors who have time to chat, no traffic, clean air, traditional irrigation canals running along the streets and best of all stress free living!
