Botswana

Untouched. Unspoilt. True African Wilderness.

Experience the ultimate in African vacations when travelling to the pristine and spectacular wilderness areas of Botswana, a magical destination if you are looking for that exclusive safari experience. Bordered by Zimbabwe in the north-east, Namibia in the west, South Africa in the south and Zambia to the north, the landscapes of Botswana range from the red-duned Kalahari deserts in the south to the lush north and north-east landscapes found around the Okavango Delta and Chobe River.

Our very experienced travel team can help you choose the perfect destination for your African vacation from the relatively unknown Makgadikgadi Pans National Park, the fertile Okavango Delta that attracts vast herds of game, birds and wildlife to drink from its life-giving waters to the Chobe region of Botswana with its massive elephant population, the largest permanent grouping found in Africa along with the usual suspects including giraffe, lion, cheetah, antelope and jackals. Stay here in the Savuti area known for its predators, particularly lions, or along the Chobe River, in the Linyanti Wetlands, a remote and exclusive African safari destination, or near the central pans around Nogatsaa.

Journey to a land that is rich in African wildlife, a birder’s paradise and an angler’s Shangri-La. Spend your days driving or walking through the pristine bush tracking game, float above it all in a hot air balloon or meander through the landscape on the back of an elephant. Southern Africa Travel has spent many years exploring Botswana to bring you best of African safari destinations and tours.

Botswana for You

Although Botswana boasts an extensive road network, roads in game reserves and parks are extremely rough and impassable especially during the rainy season. We recommend that you fly into your safari destination by scheduled charter plane from regional airports such as Maun or Kasane. Why not add on a visit to Victoria Falls in Zambia when travelling to Botswana, as there is very easy access from Kasane and the Chobe region. It is wise to plan ahead when visiting this destination as the Botswana government limits tourism numbers. Our Southern Africa Travel team has toured extensively in Botswana and is on hand to help you plan your perfect Botswana holiday. Contact us today.
