Wilderness Safaris

Sleep in a four-poster bed in one of only nine luxury tented rooms raised off the ground with connecting walkways to take you to main lodge with its long veranda and lounge area. Done up in classic safari style, the spacious rooms are comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms and an additional outdoors shower. Enjoy the panoramic vistas from the large private veranda and sala.

Take advantage of the plunge pool to escape the heat of the day and make yourself comfortable on the huge leather sofas found on the long communal veranda and lounge of the main thatched lodge for some armchair game viewing. Meals are served in a variety of venues; our favourite is the outdoor boma where you can relax under the African night sky and the main dining room with its vast eucalyptus carved table. Mombo Camp in Moremi Game Reserve, Okavango Delta offers full bar and dining facilities. Visit the curio shop if you are looking for a memento of your safari experience here.

Separated from the main camp is Little Mombo with three rooms only for a more secluded and private experience.

This is one of Botswana’s prime wildlife regions so head out there to see the big cats of Africa, the lions, leopards and cheetahs and the myriad of animals that they stalk as prey. A buffalo herd might take up residency under your raised tents at night, elephants stroll nonchalantly on their way to find some water and a variety of antelope and the smaller creatures of the African bush are all around you at Mombo Camp.

Keep an eye out for the rare white rhino, recently introduced back into Moremi Game Reserve, on your game drives in the area. Remember this is Big Five country so have your camera at the ready. If you really want to get the full experience then book for a short game walk increasing your chances of seeing smaller animals and plants that you might miss on a traditional game drive.

 

The luxury Mombo Camp is situated on a private island in the Moremi Game Reserve located in the Okavango Delta region of Botswana. Access to Mombo Camp is by light aircraft, and charter flights can be arranged from other lodges in Botswana or Maun and Kasane Airports.
