Xaranna Okavango Delta is a wonderfully remote water-based camp. Just getting to the lodge is an adventure in itself, as your guide meets you at the delta airstrip for an exhilarating 25-minute boat transfer along reed-lined channels, past beautiful water lilies and deep hippo pools.
Surrounded by glistening waterways, this delightful camp is perfect for soaking up the beauty and serenity of the Okavango Delta. The open-sided lounge and luxurious tents invite you to sit back and relax; their oversized sofas, daybeds and scatter cushions in whimsical pinks and greens reflecting the colours of the water lilies.
Glide along the waterways in a traditional mokoro, keeping an eye out for delicately patterned reed frogs and jewel-coloured kingfishers. You may see red lechwe antelope or elephant wading into the water, but for the best wildlife sightings enjoy afternoon game drives on the islands – your tracker seeking out the region’s lion, leopard and African wild dog.
In the heat of the day enjoy a refreshing dip in your private plunge pool or an afternoon siesta on your shaded daybed. In the evening guests gather together in the elevated dining area which leads out onto an open-air boma where, on clear evenings, candlelit dinners are served beneath the stars.
