Governors' IL Moran Camp – exclusive luxury stay in a game-rich region

The ten luxury tents sleep twenty guests and offer all the amenities you could desire. The en-suite bathrooms even have baths as well as large showers, twin basins, a flush toilet and hot and cold running water. The tents themselves are luxurious and spacious and each has its own private veranda.  Dine in the open bar and dining tent with great views over the Mara River, room service is available on request and if you like, they will arrange a bush breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is small curio shop on site.

This safari camp is for those that want that extra bit of luxury. The camp recreates the atmosphere of the original hunting camps with luxurious touches such as hand-carved beds, Victorian-style baths as well as flush toilets and double basins.

There are electric lamps as well as 240 UK volt plugs in the tents so that you can charge cameras during times when the generator is on – normally in the morning and late afternoon. Otherwise relax to the gentler light of gas and paraffin lamps. There are 220/240 UK volt plugs at reception at all times.

Dine in private on your veranda or at the main camp where the chef serves up hot-baked breads with full breakfasts, a stunning lunch buffet and in the evening a cordon-bleu dinner that is served by candlelight deep in the African bush.

Allow the experienced guides to take you on three game excursions a day into the stunning Masai Mara game Reserve or choose to float above it all in a hot air balloon. Leaving at dawn, you will float above the wildlife below in absolute silence before landing for a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Sign up for a guided game walk in the private concession area adjacent to the reserve and start the day with a champagne bush breakfast. Visits to the local schools and village can be arranged. Bird watching, boat rides, walking and fishing are available on Lake Victoria where you can overnight at another luxury camp.

The luxury safari destination of Governors' IL Moran Camp is set around a watering hole nearby to the Mara River in Kenya’s famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. You will fly into a nearby landing strip, be met and accompanied to the luxury camp.

There are twice-daily scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Musiara Airstrip (duration approx. 45 minutes). Clients are met on arrival and transferred by a Landrover to the camp (duration approx. 15 minutes).
