Revel in the luxury of space and peace in which you can watch, undisturbed, hippo laze in the water, birds flitting through the forest surrounding the camp and elephants bringing their calves down for a swim. The best guides and trackers are on standby to offer you their experience and knowledge of the reserve on game drives and guided walks.
You will stay in classic, traditional safari tents furnished with handmade beds, chairs and tables and the private bathrooms have hot bucket showers and flush toilets. Relax on the private verandas overlooking the river or in the communal area of the camp. The executive chef is open to tailoring the menu to suit your desires and your meals will be served up on fine china and the complimentary drinks in fine crystal.

The exclusive Governors' Private Camp can only be booked by one group at a time thus ensuring that you receive a highly personalised experience. The eight tents are spacious and all have private bathrooms and verandas. The decor is traditional safari style with hand carved furniture and ethnic touches. Enjoy the his-and-her bucket showers with hot and cold water and there are flush toilets in all of the en-suite bathrooms.
Lighting is provided by gas and paraffin lamps adding to the romantic atmosphere as does the quality of the food served up by the executive chef. The open bar and dining room has spectacular views over the Mara River and for something special book for a bush breakfast, lunch or dinner. There are 220 volt plugs available at reception if you need to charge cameras.

Experienced rangers are on hand to ensure that you get the best possible safari experience in Masai Mara. The game viewing vehicles have been customised for your comfort and viewing pleasure and they go out several times a day looking for Big Five action. The guided walking safaris on a neighbouring conservancy are well worth signing up for as local Maasai Scouts will introduce you to a range of medicinal plants used for traditional purposes as well as regale you with tales of local folklore.
Gain a different perspective by taking to the air in a hot air balloon and drift slowly over the game beneath you. This is a particularly spellbinding trip during the annual Wildebeest migration during the months from July to October. Lake Victoria is within day trip distance and is a great fishing destination for anglers and bird lovers will be in their element with the diverse range of species sighted in the nearby forest.

The exclusive Governors' Private Camp is located on a private spot on the banks of the Mara River in the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya.
There are twice-daily scheduled flights from Nairobi Wilson Airport to Musiara Airstrip (duration approx. 45 minutes). Clients are met on arrival and transferred by a Landrover to the camp (duration approx. 15 minutes).
