Little Governors’ Camp

From $440 USD Per Person Sharing

You will stay in luxury around a large watering hole teeming with wildlife at the upmarket Little Governors' Camp. Set in Kenya’s famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, this luxury destination offers you an exclusive and authentic African safari experience.

The peace and quiet of this safari camp is undisturbed and to reach it you will be ferried across the Mara River and then escorted through the riverine forest to the luxury tents. You may be in the middle of wild African bush but all of the amenities you could dream of are here. The safari tents are all equipped with facilities and amenities for your absolute comfort and also boast large polished verandas from which you can enjoy the constant stream of wildlife activity taking place around the watering hole.

Because the camp is not separated from the reserve by any fences animals wander freely including a resident family of warthogs that frequent the camp. You may share the path to the open air dining room with an elephant or two! And at night head to the Bar Tent for drinks before retiring for a gourmet feast to the nearby Dining Tent.

Little Governors' Camp – exclusive, authentic African safari destination

The romantic setting of Little Governors' Camp is enhanced by the care taken to ensure that you lack for nothing. The 17 spacious canvas tents all have their own private verandas and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and showers. Lighting is provided in the traditional safari way through gas and paraffin lamps although there are 220 volt plugs at reception.

The communal bar and dining areas are popular gathering places with their views over the waterhole, the open plains of the Masai Mara and the Oloololo Escarpment. There is room service on request and you are also welcome to book for a bush breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Activities include extensive game viewing opportunities from the camp itself and on game drives through the Masai Mara Reserve. You can opt for a walking safari to discover the hidden charm of the lives of the smaller mammals and African insects and there are specialist guides available if you are into birds or photography.

An experience of a lifetime is a hot air balloon trip over the region, particularly during the wildebeest migration – this is a spectacle you will never forget. Visit a local village for insight into the culture of the Maasai people who still live in very traditional ways and are vigilant about upholding their cultural practices. A great day trip is a visit to Lake Victoria for some different scenery and there are great fishing opportunities here. Alternatively relax on your private veranda with a good book although the action in front of you around the watering hole is better than any soap opera or head to the Spa for a treat!

Little Governors' Camp offers luxury safari accommodation in the renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve of Kenya.
