The best time to visit is during the slightly cooler, dry season from June to October. Malaria is present in Mozambique so you need to be prepared.
It is not advisable to travel by road in Mozambique; many of the roads are in bad repair and in some seasons, impassable. The country’s tourist hotspots of Maputo, Pemba and Vilanculos are easily accessible by scheduled flights from various locations including OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg and the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit, South Africa making it easy to combine a safari experience with a beach holiday.
