Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge

This comfortable desert lodge can accommodate 40 guests in 20 en-suite rooms (18 standard and two luxury suites). All of the African-feel rooms have their own terrace and therefore their own views over the stretching Namib Desert. Rooms all have electric lights and fans; solar geysers generate hot water and tap water is drawn from underground springs. There is an airstrip with night landing facilities.

Activities at this exclusive accommodation establishment include hiking on well-marked trails through the gorges of the Gaub and Kuiseb Canyon. You can choose from a variety of walks – at sunrise take a Plain or Ubib walk, or later in the day a hike along a river trail or the Gaubspring walk. Choose according to your fitness levels!

The lodge also organises trips to view the rock paintings hidden in caves in the region and sunset drives through the Rostock landscape. You are welcome to take yourself off to Sossusvlei for the day to explore the highest sand dunes in the world.

Alternatively just relax in or around the pool, soak up the atmosphere and breath in some of that pure, dry air.

The Rostock Ritz Desert Lodge is located approximately 240 kilometres from both Swakopmund and Windhoek and about 180 kilometres from Sossusvlei. Access is by road or charter aircraft.
