Price On Request

A mere three-hour drive or one-hour flight from Lanseria Airport is all that separates the fast-paced metropolis of Johannesburg from the calm green Eden that is Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. The reserve consists of 42 000 hectares (104 000 acres) of unspoilt African bushveld, ranging from rocky outcrops where leopards watch from their hidden crevices to wide open savannah where herds of zebra, wildebeest and impala abound. It is part of the larger United Waterberg Biosphere and is entirely malaria free. Founded in 1993, the reserve is one of the largest private investments in conservation in the world.

The lodge has a large viewing sun deck where guests are welcome to wile away the time while watching the animals drink at the private waterhole. The cool crystal clear swimming pool is very inviting on hot summer days. Facilities at the lodge include a dining-room bar, an outdoor boma, a gym, a well-stocked library and an entertainment centre. The chalets are elegantly decorated and appointed to make you feel pampered, indulged and special. The rooms all have large double sliding doors opening onto private viewing decks. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms equipped with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as a hippo-sized bath. The master chalet consists of two separate double bedrooms, central lounge area and a private Jacuzzi on the deck.

Game-viewing is in specially designed open vehicles equipped with elevated seating and adequate protection from the elements. Foot tracking is also available.
