Dulini is a small luxury lodge with six stone cottages sheltered under a leafy canopy of ebony trees, on the bank of the Mabrak River in Sabi Sands Private Reserve. Owned and managed by husband-and-wife team Iain and Sue Garratt, Dulini is one of those lodges that instantly make you feel welcome and well taken care of. The staff are superb and the service simply can’t be faulted!
As for the game viewing, this private reserve lives up to Sabi Sands well-earned reputation as one of the finest safari destinations in Africa. Spend just a couple of days at Dulini, and you have an excellent chance of seeing all of the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) as well as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hippo and possibly even the endangered wild dog.
The cottages are beautifully decorated with plenty of indoor space, and a shaded deck with a (heated) plunge pool. If you want to spend all your time between game drives on your private deck - it really is that magical under the trees - simply ask your personal butler to deliver lunch for a lazy afternoon of eating, napping and watching antelope come and go at the river.
A late afternoon tea sets you up for your second game drive of the day. Then in the evening look forward to dinner under the stars in the traditional boma; the outstanding food accompanied by a fine selection of South African wines.
