The original camp of Londolozi, Varty Camp embraces the conservation principles of generations of the Varty and Taylor families, dedicated to providing a sanctuary for wild life. Characterised by classic safari ambience, Varty Camp’s suites, chalets and impressive guest areas afford remarkable views of the Sand River. The main deck is the perfect setting for delicious breakfasts and lunches, and dinners of Pan-African cuisine are enjoyed in the dramatic boma (outdoor dining area) illuminated by dozens of lanterns. The living spaces are positioned under the shade of trees, raised off the ground by wooden platforms.

A number of safari activities are on offer from Varty Camp at Londolozi – these include game drives, guided walking safaris and bird-watching. The camp has a pleasantly down-to-earth quality and the emphasis on family heritage means that children always have a place at Varty Camp. There are eight luxurious chalets and four gracious suites at Londolozi Varty Camp. All the chalets and suites have a plunge pool and wooden decks overlooking the riverbank, with air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms with bath and separate shower.

The focal point of each luxurious Varty bathroom is the large tub. Also, the suites have under-floor heating and an outdoor shower as additional features. The living spaces are raised off the ground and shaded under a cathedral of trees.

Facilities at Londolozi Varty Camp include the Life Wellness Centre; where massages and other therapies can be enjoyed, the Jon Varty Cinematography Centre and the Living Boutique.

Londolozi Varty Camp is located in the very heart of the Sabi Sands Reserve, which shares a fenceless border with the world renowned Kruger National Park. The game viewing in this area is excellent and Londolozi is known for its incredible leopard sightings.

Londolozi is accessible by road and lies approximately 500 kilometres from Johannesburg. It is an easy five hour drive from Johannesburg along National Roads, and about one and a half hours drive from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) in Nelspruit.
