Set in the southern Serengeti with incredible views over the plains dotted with an extraordinary amount of wildlife, Sanctuary Kusini offers you the exciting opportunity to stay in a luxury tented camp. The twelve tents are set in remote areas of the Serengeti National Park; so remote that they need their own airstrip for access.
You will be on the doorstep of a location where thousands of wildebeest congregate during calving season along with a host of other wildlife. Stay in luxury tents set on a raised kopje and dine outside on the massive rock boulders with stunning views over the plains beneath. You will be spoilt with the attention of a personal attendant for your tent which comes complete with a private veranda, en-suite facilities and luxury amenities.
Spend your days looking for lions, trumpeting elephants, an incredibly diverse assortment of birds, buck and smaller wildlife and your nights relaxing under the African stars, cocktail in hand while you watch the evening draw to a close.
Sanctuary Kusini – exclusive tented safari experience in the Serengeti
Set on a raised kopje in the remote southern area of the Serengeti National Park, the tented campsite of Sanctuary Kusini offers luxury accommodation in twelve tents. All have been positioned to ensure great views of the surrounding plains and come complete with a personal attendant to ensure that you every need is met. The tents have private wooden verandas, en-suite facilities with hot and cold running water.
Socialise in the communal tent with its library, sitting and dining room or on the expansive deck with great game viewing opportunities. All of your hearty and delicious meals will be served up on the giant boulders outside looking over the Serengeti region.
Indulge in a wildlife experience like no other at this luxury safari destination. Expect to see lion, cheetah and leopard in close proximity to the camp and on the guided game drives you will discover buffalo, elephant, the rare wild dog, hyena and giraffe. Between January and March each year the great migration returns to this area with wildebeest and zebra coming to calve.
With some of the best stargazing in the world, Sanctuary Kusini is the perfect place for ‘cosmic safaris’; after dinner head outside to the cool granite rock and settle down while your guide introduces you to the African night sky. This is also one of the few places where you can get involved with projects such as the Serengeti Cheetah Project by spending some time learning how to identify and photograph cheetah and record their behavior and location to contribute to efforts to understand their movement patterns and thus aid their conservation.
Access the luxury tented camp of Sanctuary Kusini by scheduled flight from Arusha, Kuro, Lake Manyara, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam or book for a private charter flight. You will be met at the airstrip and begin your safari experience immediately on the 15-minute drive to the camp.
