Wilderness Safaris

Accommodation at the luxury Shumba Camp is in six spacious safari tents with twin beds that can be converted to doubles, set out on raised platforms overlooking the surrounding plains. The stylishly decorated rooms are all en-suite with both indoor and outdoor showers. Meals are served in the elevated dining and bar area and dinner can also be enjoyed in the boma where you can also experience elements of the local Zambian culture. 

This luxury safari camp is perfectly positioned for excellent game viewing; both from the elevated main viewing decks and on day and night game drives through the surrounding area. Because of the close proximity to water, wildlife of all kinds is abundant in the area.

The name of Shumba Lodge comes from the local word for lion; one of the prominent species in the Busanga Plains region of Zambia and prides can often be seen up to 20 members strong. You can view puku, lechwe and hippo from the comfort of your tent or the main deck and the camp with its shady fig trees is a haven for birds.

 

The luxury tented Shumba Camp is situated in the north western corner of Zambia’s Kafue National Park in the famous Busanga Plains area.
