A light aircraft flight takes you over the stark scenery of Damaraland and the Kaokoveld to the grassy plains of Ongava Game Reserve. Bordering Etosha National Park, Ongava combines night drives and guided walks in this private reserve with guided game drives in neighbouring Etosha.

Etosha is Namibia’s premier wildlife destination and during the dry season it’s not uncommon to see springbok, zebra and giraffe all drinking from the same waterhole. The park’s iconic saltpans and grasslands make for easy, clear sightings with other big players including elephant, rhino, cheetah and lion.

Staying at Ongava Lodge you have your own private waterhole which attracts a steady stream of wildlife. You also have the option of guided game drives in Ongava Reserve itself, and for the adventurous tracking white rhino on foot is a highlight not to be missed.
