River Cruises & Game Drives in Chobe National Park

Chobe Game Lodge overlooking the river

Your journey starts at Chobe Game Lodge, the only permanent safari lodge within the world-famous Chobe National Park.

Chobe is a fantastic big game destination, with the Chobe River supporting Africa’s largest concentration of elephant - during dry season herds of up to a hundred can be seen gathered at the water’s edge!

Spend your days on game drives (keeping an eye out for lion, leopard and cheetah) as well as peaceful river cruises. The sunset cruises are particularly popular floating along drink in hand; watching for wildlife on the riverbank. Often you don’t even have to leave the lodge to start game viewing as the rooms look out onto the Chobe River, its waters a magnet for wildlife.

Overlook an Active Waterhole in Game-Packed Savute

Elephant in the SavuteThe south western part of Chobe National Park is called the Savute, a phenomenal game viewing region best known for its large prides of lion and packs of spotted hyena.

Activities in the Savute focus on morning and afternoon game drives led by guides with an encyclopaedic knowledge and real passion for the bush. There’s plenty to see on Savute's marshes and grassy plains including elephant, buffalo, lion, hyena, giraffe and, if you’re lucky, good sightings of leopard and wild dog too.

Along with game drives you can also journey to Gubatsa Hills to view the ancient and historical San rock or simply relax back at Savute Game Lodge and wait for the wildlife to come to you. You won’t have to wait long - the chalets and main lodge overlook an active waterhole, and often during meals out on the deck guests are treated to the sight of elephant wandering by on their way to the water to drink.

Big Cats & Wild Dogs in Moremi Game Reserve

Game drive in Moremi

Moremi Game Reserve covers a vast area of clear waterways, forested islands, lily-covered lagoons, and is without doubt the most wildlife-rich region of the Okavango Delta.
As for Camp Moremi, it sits in the Xaxanaka area, one of the most beautiful parts of Moremi. There’s plenty of big game here with frequent sightings of elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, and leopard, along with smaller creatures such as the rare sitatunga antelope and serval cats. And the birdlife is so good that even non-birders are bound to be impressed, especially along the Khwai River.

Activities offered by Camp Moremi include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, as well as motorboat safaris on the Xaxanaka Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels.

Mokoro Safaris & Guided Walks in the Okavango Delta

Mokoro safari in the OkavangoStay at the heart of the Okavango Delta, at a remote water-based camp - an authentic water wilderness experience.

Camp Okavango is surrounded by water all year round and offers both motorboat and mokoro safaris – gliding past brightly coloured water lilies and a myriad of birds, keeping an eye out for elephant and other wildlife on the fringes of the crystal-clear channels. Back on land, track larger game species on guided walking safaris on the nearby islands.

Staying at this classic tented camp shows you another side to the delta, and its walking and mokoro safaris offer a wonderful contrast to the game drives in Moremi.

Day & Night Game Drives on Magical Makgadikgadi Pans

Zebra on Makgadikgadi Pans

The final stop on your luxury safari is Leroo La Tau lodge, overlooking the Boteti River on the border of the Makgadikgadi Pans. This region of the Kalahari offers a stark contrast to the watery wonderland of the Okavango Delta.

During the rainy season herds graze on the grassy plains. As the dry season sets in and water becomes scarce, thousands of zebra and wildebeest migrate to the Boteti River with predators such as lion and cheetah hot on their hooves.

Leroo La Tau offers both day and night game drives, as well as boat safaris on the Boteti River (depending on water levels). There is also a fantastic hide at the lodge where you can happily spend a few hours watching wildlife comings and goings down at the river.
